Stix pix update...
Looking East
Looking West...
Eastward view from yard...
Neighbor across the street...
A better Eastward view...
Northern neighbor's house...perfect!
The wife had snapped these pics of our new place a few weeks back and neglected to mention them until I asked to use her camera. The major difference is that the trees are now in bloom and, I can't take a picture of the peace and quiet that conveys living away from constant traffic, nosey neighbors and, city drama that has been less and less intrusive and annoying.
Yesterday, I fenced my poultry area off with 150' of wire fencing and transported my flock to their new digs and, I've set up a deal to get 2 Katahdin sheep and a Dorper Ram to mow the grass in the back.
Still looking for for a few feeder pigs to round things out but, it seems that lately everyone thinks that every piglet is a 4-H show winner in the making and are trying to charge champion bloodline prices for standard run of the mill piglets...county fair season for kids...go figure.
As for internet, still no concrete decision.
For phone service, I opted for virgin mobile's $35 a month plan that includes unlimited internet over the phone and is still better than any landline deal available...so my blogging days may be numbered unless I shit or, get off the pot and, make a decision for internet service since blogging from a blackberry is out of the question for me.
We'll see what happens but, with the nice weather popping up here lately my favorite medium of working in my yard and, getting the garden prepped will soak up a lot of time.
I picked up 50 Jersey Giant Asparagus crowns to plant and a shitload of garlic and onion sets as well as seed potatoes the other day.
My tomato sprouts will be trans-planted mid-May-ish if all looks well.
Updates to follow!

I am envious of your digs. 12 more years and I'll be a gentleman farmer and esquire! haha
PS: Nice fields of fire if need be.
Farmer Sepp! Hope everything works out for you.
Sepp,
Congratulations! I have a similar view but with some hills and trees.
Solitude is priceless.
Thanks guys! I spent a lot of time looking for that "just the right spot" piece of property at a good price, a bit of privacy and, a few acres to garden and do something productive with.
It was nice the other night to sit in a lawn chair and relish in the quiet I've been missing for a long time.
Still no tv or, internet service but, I got a deal on a blackberry for 500 minutes of talktime per month and unlimited internet for $35 if I want to read the news with a magnifying glass on it...and I don't.
The place has almost completely killed my interest in news and politics since the place is so far out in the sticks that if the world ended, my place would probably be the last to go.
The only thing missing is a pond stocked with bass and bluegill which I hope to remedy within the year.
Thanks again for the kind words...updates will be posted as I'm able to!

-Sepp,
Very nice - I sit here envious in crowded suburbia.
Wow - it even drew a tasteful comment from Mud_PILE . . . . I think that's a first.
Thanks CS! Suburbia is way overrated and, I'm not going to miss it!
As for Muddy, we'll likely never see eye-to-eye on political issues but, his "off politics" manner is actually friendly...kind of like a neighbor you'd like to strangle during an election but, would snowblow his sidewalk because he's your neighbor.
Sepp- Very nice homestead. I am very happy for you. And you're even closer to Cedar Point. Very nice.
I'm feeling the noose, Sepp. But seriously, it is great to get away from politics because as you and the rest of the posse knows, what we say/write doesn't mean a whole lot in the long run anyway. All it does is give us a grain of 'satisfaction' which does very little to improving our quest for self-improvement and towards becoming fully-functioning humans.
