The fiscal cliff boondoggle...

What I'm about to say here might piss some folks off a tad bit but, stay with me...

After reading some lefty blogs and "news" sites geared toward them, I read a comment that struck a chord.

Every one of those blogs and the commenter's were singing the same tune...that the fiscal cliff...as well as the solutions for it not being imposed are all the fault of the GOP, conservatives in general and, of course the "racist" tea party people.

My solution?

The right should just stop trying to inject any sanity at all into the argument since it all falls on the deaf ears of the leftist looters and, if Obama's plans all come crashing down, the moonbats will try and claim it was the GOP's ...or, Bush's...fault that it failed.

Don't vote yea or, ney on ANYTHING...follow Obama's example and vote "present" and wash your hands of any responsibility for the failure and, the mess afterwards.

When it all comes crashing down, it will land squarely on the shoulders of Obama and, the democrats for all to see because the usual tactic of blame shifting will be impossible.

It might seem unpatriotic to some folks that I'd take this position but, I assure everyone I'm just as patriotic as I've ever been.

As a kid, my neighbor used to set up ramps and, jump them with his bike.
His mother used to flip out and come running outside screaming and making him take it down because he'd get hurt.

Well, she gave up and, he went over the handlebars and smashed out one of his front teeth and gashed his chin open and, had to get stitches in his face.

All the warnings never stopped him...a trip to the emergency room and dental surgery and pain like he'd never felt before...DID work since he quit jumping ramps and learned the lesson the hard way.

Fiscal cliff?
More like a fiscal ramp...they won't believe what will happen to them because WE warn them...they need to find out for themselves, suffer through the pain for themselves and, accept the blame by themselves.

Although I DO see them later on bawling that the Republicans just "didn't do enough" to save them from their own stupidity like my neighbor's Mom did so many times for him.

Sorry folks, they DID warn you...over and over again.

They need to stop coming out to the sidewalk and taking the ramp away and just let you feel that pain of having to learn the hard way.

The downside is that responsible people will probably suffer along the way while the left are learning...like my neighbor's mother did spending hours in the emergency room, dentist's office and paying the bills.

So be it.

Pelosi said yesterday that they needed to raise taxes on the top 2%...UP from last week's top 1%...WITHOUT reducing government spending!
As if Obama's 550 billion in increased spending OVER Bush's insane spending...has nothing to do with the debt...and that forcing the top 2% of wage earners is the solution?
It's envy politics at it's lowest.

Increased taxes on the upper crust that will only pay for Obama's spending for less than ONE month...isn't even close to be a solution.

Government handouts are the problem and they outweigh every "solution" the dems dream up.

Solving 1% toward Obama's spending...isn't a solution at all.

It might make the envy class happy to see the 2% punished but, still leaves us with a trillion dollar bill annually.

Let's start with things we agree on:

1. Get rid of all the political "pork barrel" stipends. The seniority system in Congress and favors to the lobbyist are just killing us.

2. Make taxes more equitable. Is it fair that some wealthy people hide their taxable income in "offshore tax havens"? Shouldn't churches who engage in political activity pay taxes just like everyone else in the same political arena?

One Ohio tax that fries my hide is the Turnpike. Why should the people in Northwest Ohio pay on the ONLY tollroad in Ohio to finance projects in other parts of the state? Why should smokers pay so much additional tax when most of the taxes ae collected from the bottom 25%.

These are just a few of the things that politians never want to talk about.

Alph,
Congress could get rid of those offshore loopholes but, they use them more than anyone.

Churches...the democrats have been "putting roofs" on churches for decades in exchange for having political endorsements delivered from the pulpits...don't look for any changes there although there should be.

The turnpike revenue should fund it's maintenance and then the roads of the counties it passes through...whatever is leftover should go into the state's general fund.

The ciggarette tax DOES get paid mostly by poorer people...which is why whenever Obama claims to have cut taxes for the poor and middle class, he's lying since he added a $1 tax increase per pack back in January of 2009 during his first week in office.

The scumbags that pass as "leadership" who are running this government are stuck on stupid.
The fiscal cliff "solutions" they're trying to shit us with are a joke.
Raise taxes is the only idea the democrats can come up with?

Thats it?
And these clowns can't find ANYTHING in the budget to cut off or, even back on?

And the GOP has no idea how to save money on the military spending?

It isn't that they can't find places and ways to cut spending, the problem lies in the fact that the democrat's spending is completely tied to buying votes via goodies and, the GOP feels it needs to posture too much where the military is concerned to keep up appearances.

I could cut hundreds of millions from the military budget WITHOUT degrading readiness or, troop strength.
I could also cut an easy few billion from entitlement programs without cutting the current SS payments as well as even welfare payments.

I could do it because my decisions in where to cut corners aren't tied to pandering for my job.

The democrats are going to have to do better than playing class envy games via the taxcode if they're going to "save us" from their own spending habits.

Obama's idiotic "solution" is to increase revenue ( they won't even call it "taxes" anymore ) by 1.6 trillion over ten years.
Meanwhile he overspends 1.6 trillion (funny how the numbers match) EVERY year!

What I'm wondering is where all that extra money he's spent actually went since Bush overspent by 500 billion annually...where and what the hell is Obama spending the extra $560 billion on annually and, what are we getting for the money...besides debt at twice the rate?
One would have to ponder the fact that Obama must have thought that Bush wasn't going to collapse our monetary system fast enough.
