Obviously not.
My son's school had a "primer" for the district's 6th graders to all attend on Friday.
As a parent and, from experience of going myself and, sending my 3 older kids off to 6th grade camp, I assumed it was going to be an informational type meeting that tells the kids what to expect from leaving home for a week for the first time by themselves.
Nope!
It was a "primer" alright...my son was subjected to activities such as "hug tag" where all the kids are on the gym floor while music plays and when it stops...they have to be hugging the first kid they get their hands on or, be "frozen"...IE "bad".
It didn't matter who you were hugging...boys with boys...just so long as you didn't end up "frozen" and frowned upon...and "out".
The next "activity" was touching your knees with another student and gazing into his / her eyes for a timed 2 minutes.
Next came the "anyone who has ever been bullied or, made fun of...stand up and tell your story" time.
My son said that 3 kids who nobody from his school knew, stood up and told stories about being bullied or, picked on and, began to cry halfway through their stories.
What the hell does any of that shit have to do with going to 6th grade camp?
Acting gay and doing obviously gay things is good but, if you're repulsed by it..."you're bad and somethings wrong with you" and, you're just like the villians in the stories those other kids told?
What next? "If Johnny touches your weiner in the bathroom and you don't like it, somethings wrong with you" indoctrination crap?
Fucking liberals. I'm fed up with the crap they try to push on adults but, when they start trying to ram their shit down the throats of kids, I draw the fucking line.
My son was told that the function was "to enhance the kids in mixing with other students as opposed to spending the week hanging with their friends."
Guess what? Kids who decide to go to the archery range or, ride horses or, go hiking...ARE going to meet other kids due to shared interests!
And this entire "school bully" bullshit just teaches kids to continue to be cowards while using "the government" as their crutch.
We're breeding the next generation of anonymus tipsters to every problem people have deep into adulthood.
I myself, saw the former "school bully" from my own school last year.

As for qweers...which it seems this entire "meeting" was all about anyways, I find it disgusting that an adult agenda is being forced onto kids in the 6th grade.
Guess what? If a boy is repulsed by the idea that another boy is sexually atrracted to him, it isn't he that is the odd man out and worthy of public scorn.

Your son has good instincts already.
The problem with programs like you describe only happen because parents don't stop them. Most of us are too busy working and tending to our responsibilities whereas liberals are forever chipping away at common sense with feel good programs that produce unintended consequences.

A few weeks ago, my kindergardner told me a fifth grader was kicking her on the bus. I told her to tell this kid that if she kicked her again, she was gonna punch her in the nose. My kid said I said she wasn't allowed to hit people. I corrected her telling her I said she wasn't allowed to hit her sisters.
Long story short, I get a call from the assistant principal that my daughter threatened another student. As always, the bully was a coward - this particular coward more than twice the body weight of the victim. I managed to straighten out the administrative asshole, but it galls me that the first step in his investigation was to call me. When I was a kid, if a student told a teacher that little Kelly threatened her, the teachers response was what did you do to little Kelly? Now, an accusation is a sentence of guilt. And kids are not learning how to deal with life's problems.

What a psychologist might do is copy your post and change all of your references to your child to "you" by editing each so that the sentence begins with the word, 'I.'

One of the consistent tenants of Communism is seizing control of the public school system. Making kids little liberals (democrats, socialist, progressives, whatever) is part of the over all plan of subjugation.
Hardnox is right - parents have to talk to their children and then get right in the teacher's faces when the school system crosses the line.
I remember being at a school parent's night and a history teacher was telling us about his curriculum and said that he was also going to teach the children about "love." I about came out of my seat - that was when we were stationed in San Diego - go figure.
We had a sharp exchange where I told him how inappropriate that was and to leave that part of a child's education to the parents. All the parents in the room concurred.

I raised my 3 youngest kids by myself after I divorced for damned near 5 years which is a feat in itsself since only 5% of men in Ohio are awarded sole custody of young children...and held a full time job.

Losing my kids wasn't going to happen and since I'm not a woman or, anyone who fits within the moonbat's ideals of welfare nobility, sympathies and, canned excuses for failure, I made it work.

Many of those goals have actually exceeded the expectations of the former Soviet union. They didn't think it would take as long as it did.
History is a wonderfull teacher and, we certainly can't say that we were never warned.
Orwell, Rand and, Huxley wrote "fiction" about the liberal mindset back in the 1940's and 50's which seem to have been almost prophetic.
Most of the crap you hear liberals preaching seem to have torn right from the pages of their books.
Juri Bezminov was a high ranking KGB defector who detailed his job as cultivating "usefull idiots" from teacher's unions, student groups, professors, actors, writers and others who were influencial to many people for the purpose of subversion and demoralization.
Gen Oleg Kalugin was also a KGB defector who was in charge of the KGB's First directorate which was subversion and espionage in America.
His book detailed and corroborated everything Bezminov stated and then some.
Vasili Mitrokhin was the senior archivist for the KGB's foreign intelligence service who smuggled documents from the archives detailing the use of LIBERALS and liberal groups as part of the soviet demoralization campaign which used liberals as the homegrown subversives to spread propaganda, criminalize wealth and business, spread racial unrest and animosity, ridicule churches and, devout people, spread pornography and deviant behavior.
The common theme from every defector and from, every soviet document pertaining to the KGB's demoralization and subversion programs was that LIBERALS are not only easy to recruit but, often willing to take part without coersion or, payment.
Bezminov even detailed why liberals were such willing "usefull idiots"...because they actually believed they would play some kind of part when socialism / communism arrived while in reality, they were just unknowingly being used until unneeded.
