Romney's words were right on target because Obama's base is comprised of die-hard democrats who haven't yet learned that the party is a mere hologram of what it used to be, a strong faction of communists and socialists who have never experienced those ideals personally and, the rest are shitbags who will always vote in favor of those who promise letting them continue to be worthless leaches living on the backs of the American taxpayer.
What he was saying is that he understands that he'll never get the shitbag vote because the idea of going to work is repugnant to them and, the idea of lower taxation has no effect on them anyways.
His target voters are the folks who WANT to work but, can't find it under the Obama regime's idea of government funded stagnation and poverty that's being masqueraded as "recovery" in the form of food stamps.
Promising to create jobs for the Obama supporter who never wanted one in the first place is going to fall on deaf ears...just like promising fair taxation to those who don't pay them anyways will fall on those same deaf ears.
However, those who DO want to work, might have a reason for optimism as opposed to the Obama administration's constant radio broadcasts encouraging people to get on food stamps and welfare.
Now why on Earth would a sitting president who is promising ( while NEVER delivering ) better times, EVER have his underlings paying for radio time that tells people to get on assistance?

Social security isn't "relief" to those of us who have been paying for it all of our working lives from our own pockets.
As for my farming, I haven't paid any transactional sales taxes because I haven't yet sold anything I've produced.
I HAVE however paid every penny in sales taxes on my livestock feed, farm supplies, fencing, animals, fuel, etc and, have every recipt and disposition on file.
And, as with ANY business whatever extra cost I incur, I pass it onto...ready?...YOU!
So when you dipshit liberals demand that businesses be taxed at a higher rate to make yourselves feel better, just keep that in mind when you're buying eggs, poultry, pork, beef and vegetables at the store and whining about the prices...YOU did this to yourself.

250 lbs X $3.50 = $875
$400 bucks covers MY cost to buy raise and butcher and a few bucks for my own labor included.
Add in your government's take and you pay $875+ for something you COULD have for HALF that price!

Operation "Fast and Furious," the controversial undercover operation that allowed U.S. guns to be walked into Mexico, was a "risky strategy" that did not "adequately take into account the significant danger to public safety that it created."
That was the conclusion today from the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Justice, after an investigation that spanned more than a year and a half.
